DR. JAMES P. GILLS: I think the philosophy of being in any job or any profession is a very important and I think when we have any philosophy other than being a servant we make it very difficult for ourselves. If you go into a job and say, “Hey, I’m going to be a servant and I’m going to be a good servant” then any job becomes good and easy. That’s the way we think medicine should be and we try to be servants and provide the best care for our patients. It’s that servant-hood that we think is important and that’s why we try to give the patient the best quality of vision, we try to be affable, we try to be available, and we try to have ability. We try to have all of those always for our patients. If you have a problem at St. Luke’s we want you to call and come in and see us and we are going to be available for you to try to make you see as good as humanly possible but we are going to do our best to correct any correctable part of your eyes that we can do in a medical or surgical way.
