DR. PIT GILLS: The exciting thing about the new lenses that have been available such as a Crystalens is they offer a depth of focus for people that don’t want to have cheaters around their neck all day. So these patients have some freedom from glasses not just for distance but also to some degree for up close. That is a fountain of youth, so to speak, and a lot of people are interested in that. It’s not perfect but it’s much better than what we have had in the past. There are other lenses available but at this time that appears to be the best accommodating lens on the market.
