DR. JOHN T. LIVECCHI: I think it’s interesting to know that a growing segment in my practice here at St. Luke’s is men. Many people think cosmetic surgeries are just for women but in actuality I am seeing a significant amount of men come into the practice. Now why do they come in? They want to look better and they want to compete against the young guys. That’s basically it. Another thing I like to say is that when you have something done such as a functional blepharoplasty and the insurance companies pay for it, I want to know why a patient wouldn’t decide to have that. They’re not only seeing better but they’re going to look better.
