DR. JOHN T. LIVECCI: Many patients don’t realize that many of the procedures that I perform here at St. Luke’s Cataract and Laser Institute in Tarpon Springs is paid for by insurance companies. Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Health, Signet, and the rest of them, assuming we do the proper testing will pay for the procedure. Why do they pay for it? Because it’s a functional procedure as well. We’re helping these patients see better. We’re eliminating the obstruction of the peripheral vision.
